🌿 Morning Session: CLEAR IDEAS for Innovation – How to be practically creative at work

Facilitated by Kamal Birdi | 10:00 – 12:00

Professor Kamal Birdi is a Professor of Work Psychology at Sheffield University Management School and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist. He has been researching and working in the areas of organisational creativity, innovation and learning for over thirty years.

‘CLEAR IDEAS’ (CI) is a creativity and innovation training framework developed by Professor Birdi in 2005 at the University of Sheffield. Based on extensive organisational research, the model is designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed to both generate creative solutions and ensure their more effective implementation.

Over the last twenty-one years, hundreds of organisations from the public, private and third sectors have taken part in CI workshops, including the NHS, Ministry of Justice, BBC, Tetrapak, BOC, WWF, Sightsavers International and Mind.

In this interactive workshop, Professor Birdi will explain how to apply the CI model to real-life challenges, helping you generate new ideas and plan more effectively to put them into practice.

There will be a particular focus on the IDEAS part of the model, where participants will explore how creative thinking techniques can help produce more original solutions.

By the end of the session, participants will have gained practical insights into how to make their own innovation activities more successful.

🧩 Afternoon Session: Building Habits That Stick

Led by Naomi Woods | 13:00 – 15:00

Naomi is an experienced people development consultant and Founder of Maoni Consulting. She is passionate about developing and growing the individuals, teams and businesses she partners with.

With a wide variety of experience across people development, Naomi has a particular passion for enabling people to achieve lasting results through sustainable behaviour change.

Our ability to build habits and behaviours in ourselves, and enable them in others, is a key skill for us as ‘people’ people.

Whether we're coaching, delivering workshops, facilitating, training or supporting with other change activities, building habits is what helps learning and insights stick.

In this session, we’ll explore what we already know about building behaviours, look at neurological habit loops and apply these to practical starter steps for building a new habit.

A chance to explore how we can turn learning and insight into lasting behaviour change, both for ourselves and the people we support.
