Cheryl Knupfer
Strategic Lead for Neurodivergence, Stockport Council

Cheryl has over 28 years of experience working alongside autistic individuals and their families,
from pre-school children through to adulthood. She is currently leading on the development and
delivery of Stockport's first all-age autism strategy and has spent her career challenging
stereotypes, breaking down barriers, and helping to create more inclusive systems and services.
She often co-designs and co-delivers bespoke training packages to support people to
understand neurodivergence and develop the confidence, skills, and approaches needed to
effectively support neurodivergent individuals.

In 2024, Cheryl's professional expertise took on a deeply personal dimension when she received
her own ADHD diagnosis. This experience sparked a journey of self-discovery, reflection, and
empowerment, providing valuable insight into the strengths and challenges that many
neurodivergent individuals experience.

Alongside her leadership role, Cheryl has benefited from bespoke ADHD coaching and is
currently undertaking the AZESTA Coaching Apprenticeship Programme and has joined
Stockport Council’s coaching team.

She will be joined by Jo, her course tutor to deliver a masterclass to share neurodivergent
experiences through both professional and personal lenses, offering practical strategies,
increased understanding, and valuable insights to help coaches create more inclusive, strengths-
based coaching relationships.
