Azesta Achieves Ofsted Recognition: Excellence in Leadership and Apprenticeship Delivery

We are delighted to announce that Azesta Ltd has once again been rated ‘GOOD’ overall in our latest Ofsted inspection, with particular commendation for our ‘Outstanding’ performance in Behaviour and Attitudes. This outcome reflects the high standards we set as a specialist provider of experiential learning and leadership development apprenticeships.

This recognition affirms the continued success of our approach to training, the commitment of our coaching professionals, and the motivation and professionalism of our apprentices.

Delivering Impactful Leadership Apprenticeships Across the UK

Azesta has been designing and delivering impactful learning experiences for over 25 years. From our base in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, we support employers and learners across the country through carefully tailored apprenticeships in leadership, coaching, and mentoring.

Our programmes are delivered in collaboration with employers in sectors such as local government, housing associations, and the food industry. In each case, the training is aligned to the needs of the organisation while supporting the personal and professional growth of the learner.

Praise for Our Trainers: Experts in Leadership and Learning

The Ofsted report highlighted the deep subject knowledge, experience, and professionalism of our coaches. Each brings a wealth of real-world leadership and coaching expertise, which they use to engage apprentices in meaningful dialogue and high-quality training sessions.

Inspectors noted that our coaches:

  • Use logical sequencing to build knowledge, skills, and behaviours over time

  • Deliver engaging face-to-face workshops and group activities

  • Skillfully facilitate discussions that challenge thinking and encourage reflection

  • Provide relevant and timely feedback through practical assessments and role play

  • Support the development of both professional and personal growth

The report also commended our team’s commitment to continuous professional development, noting the inclusion of emerging topics such as neuro-inclusion and the use of AI in learning.

An Exceptional Learning Environment for Apprentices

Ofsted found that Azesta apprentices are highly motivated, committed, and engaged in their learning. They benefit from a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration across roles and departments.

Learners praised the opportunity to work alongside peers from different shifts and disciplines — such as engineers, night shift workers and warehouse staff — creating a rich and diverse learning culture that enhances professional understanding.

Apprentices were found to be making significant progress in their leadership behaviours, including the ability to give balanced feedback, understand unconscious bias, and apply coaching frameworks to improve workplace communication and performance.

Enriching the Apprenticeship Experience with Real-World Learning

Azesta’s commitment to experiential learning was evident throughout the inspection. In addition to meeting the core requirements of each apprenticeship standard, leaders have embedded a range of enrichment opportunities and specialist content to elevate the learning experience.

These include:

  • Masterclasses in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Transactional Analysis

  • Specialist sessions on Modern Slavery in the food and hospitality sectors

  • Monthly wellbeing and current affairs newsletters

  • Webinars on personal health topics such as menopause, stress and nutrition

Apprentices are encouraged to engage with academic texts, industry podcasts and workplace legislation to support both their written assignments and wider understanding.

A Culture of Excellence and Professional Growth

The ‘Outstanding’ rating for Behaviour and Attitudes highlights the level of commitment shown by our learners and the positive, respectful culture fostered by our trainers. This exceptional outcome reflects how deeply embedded our values are — not only within our delivery team but also across our learning community.

Ofsted concluded that apprentices:

  • Demonstrate maturity, professionalism and a strong commitment to personal growth

  • Apply their learning confidently in the workplace

  • Are inspired to continue developing their careers

  • Feel supported and valued by their coaches
